Continuing on with award season from out the last issue, The 61st annual Grammy Awards presented by the Recording Academy took place in Los Angeles, CA early February bringing all the hottest celebrities in the music industry together. Singer Alicia Keys hosted the glamorous night performing herself and entertaining the crowd with her charm and bawdy. Although the night was filled with memorable moments and winners, two ladies took multiple awards that night, which were huge. Cardi B won Best Rap Album, the first female rapper to ever do so. This year has been nothing but legendary for Cardi B, and we’re happy to see her take home a well-deserved award.
Singer Her also was a big winner in the R&B category for Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Album. Taking home a Grammy for Best R&B Album for only an EP is a tremendous accolade, and we couldn’t be happier for Her (pun intended).
